It's the most wonderful time of the year.

Christmas was pretty wonderful! The best part was watching Claire open her presents. She was soo cute and so excited. And everytime she started to open a new one she'd open her eyes as wide as they'd go and say, "Oh wow!" And yesterday morning she woke up and gave me a hug and said "Mer kiskis mama." So dang cute! Faye enjoyed herself as well. She was just a little ball of joy (literally a ball, haha!) She just looked around and smiled and laughed out loud! (She just started doing this Christmas eve and it's the best sound in the world!) We attempted to go to church Christmas eve but my family didn't save us seats so.... it didn't really work out. It's hard to be early to something when you have two babies. So we stayed at the service for 20 minutes then took off. But the food we ate the past few days was very good. I'm excited to eat leftovers today. Oh and Lane got me a Nintendo DS. I'm excited about it... but the story is funny. He wanted to get me one and he checked probably five different places that were all out... so he ended up buying me a used one at Game Crazy. It's pretty... umm used. Haha. It works though and today I get to go and pick out a bunch of games. So that's our Christmas. Here's some pictures. And the kitchen that Claire got is so cute! She's been playing with it nonstop since she opened it. She's been doing a lot of cooking for us!

Thoughts at 1:00 am.

I'm up. It's almost 1:00 am. Lane was snoring so loud. I kept kicking him... but too late... I was up, and AWAKE. I wish I wasn't. But I have nothing to do... I'll write a blog.

So, recently Lori and Andy, two very good friends of mine asked me to be with them during the labor and delivery of their first baby. He's due in mid March. When Lori asked me I started to cry. I was so honored. Childbirth is something really close to my heart now. I love it and I watch millions of childbirth videos on youtube all the time. There are even ones that I love that I'll watch again and again. And I have my favorite books that I still flip through every once in awhile. Books about childbirth and books of stories of women and their birth experiences. So, anyhow I'm so excited about this. I've been thinking since Faye's birth that I would love to be a part of "childbirth" for women in some way. Being a doula or labor assistant requires no certification or training so I'll start there. I can't even tell you how amazing I think childbirth is and how interested I am in it. Having two babies started something in me that I just can't let go. I feel "called" I guess you can say, to support women and to love on them during one the hardest times in their lives. I hope that this works out. I want it so badly. So that's that. I'll keep you posted.

Christmas Party 2008

This year was much more mellow than most... and it was very last minute. I was super stressed about it but it turned out good. I think everyone had fun. We didn't have a ton of alcohol which is probably a good thing.

It's been awhile. I haven't had much to write about. December has been uneventful besides our Christmas party, which was great. Me and the girls have been spending pretty much ALL of our time inside considering that it's been freeeezing outside. Claire's been trying to skip naps, which is no fun for me. But normally our day goes like this... Get up, do our thing, play outside for a few hours, which really gets her tired and then she passes out. But since it's been too cold to play outside and she's been sick, we've been spending our days inside watching endless episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Yesterday we spent a few hours outside which was nice. I think we all needed the fresh air. And now here we are again... inside. Thanks to Lane we have a fire going in the wood burning stove and we aren't bundled up in scarves and hats in our house which is normally the case. I thought I'd post some pictures today. I've been taking a lot.

My little beauties.

Funny story... We were all hanging out... Me, Taryn, Amy, Noelle and the kids. Parker, Ella and Claire were upstairs at Noelle's. Ella kept coming down the stairs and telling us to get Parker and Claire out of the bath tub because they were playing with soap and she wanted them to stop. Finally Noelle went upstairs to check on the kids and what she found was amazing... at first. Claire had so much soap in her hair that she looked like she got electrocuted... it was sticking straight up. Parker had soap allllll over his face and all over his hands and then he started rubbing his eyes... it was all down hill from there. He was screaming and Amy was freaked out, thinking that Parker was about to go blind. So we ended up stripping the kids down and throwing them into the tub. Poor Ella, just trying to tell us what was going on and we weren't listening. And later I did ask Claire if she was the one that put soap all over Parkers face and she said yes. Ooops. Sorry Parker. It won't happen again :(

And here's Owen and Faye doing what they do best, just sitting there looking cute. Aren't they precious?

And I'll post some pictures from the Christmas party soon...

The happiest place on earth...

So Lane and I packed up our little fam this last thursday night and headed down south to go to Disneyland. I've been super excited about this trip for awhile... we'd been planning it for a few months. One thing I didn't think about was how tiring it was going to be!!! Oh my gosh! I'm so exhausted and I'm expecting to be recovering from our trip for at least a few days. Claire did have a really good time though. She LOVED the Pixar parade in California Adventure. That was her favorite part of the entire day. Nemo and Dory walked up to her and gave her a hug and that made her tiny heart explode with excitement. I loved seeing her so happy all day. She would get so tired but try so hard to stay awake so she wouldn't miss anything. She was precious. Faye had a good time as well... sleeping, eating, pooping... doing all the things she normally does. We didn't do much while we were there. Mostly walk around and wait in lines... I think we only went on five rides. It's just so different going to Disneyland with babies. But here are some pictures...

The girls are all loaded up in the new stroller... which was awesome to have at Disneyland by the way. I don't know how else we would have done it.

My favorite part of Christmas at Disneyland. New Orleans Square. So pretty.

Claire and her beloved Tinkerbell.

So excited to meet Minnie Mouse!

How cute is she in her little hat???
